It’s a known fact that February is the shortest month of the year but somehow it’s proving otherwise for me this time around. Once again I am at a personal dead-end thanks to a whole new bunch of varying form of troubles. But anyway I guess I am used to of them now.

So Sachin Tendulkar made a double ton in ODI and he once again single-handedly made me time travel through memory lanes of gully cricket. Wow it used to be a lot of fun. Strangely I was reminded of 2003, class tenth board examinations. India was unbelievably in the finals. What a year it was. My first paper was on 4^th and just a day prior to it witnessed a legend of a match between India and Pakistan at centurion.  Well boards finally ended on the 22^nd and I was super excited for the Indo-Aussie Finals. 23^rd march 2003 was the date and I had to be amongst the most severely depressed kids as India lost the World Cup…badly…..

Those were the times when my schedule used to be fixed for almost all seasons…get up at 6am…get ready for school.. Come back and do the homework and rush at 5 pm to play cricket…like all Indian kids I also believed that I had the capability to play for the Indian team and bring glory to the country.  Sighhhh….it was not to be as I discovered the rigors of life proved more difficult than the Rs 101 match from the neighboring colony team. I gave up my “talent” to do more meaningful things in life (read studying ) and buried myself in the Engineering and physics books…5 years later cricket bug bit me again when India reached the finals of the first ever T20 world cup and almost snatched defeat out of victory’s claws. But we won…and yes I did go crazy that night. Trying to get a place to watch the match in Pune and finally settling for a less adrenaline driven and expensive Dominos for the retreat.

Seems like a million years ago now but I have come to believe one thing..As long as Sachin Tendulkar is there and as long as I live on. There will always be a kid inside me who would get super excited when India is winning and who will possess the best Cricketing gyaan at that point of time….

Recently one of my dear friends sent me a sms forward which almost go me choked up…. It simply said…”Oye..kal school jana hai !! “ and yes it makes me sad that I will never use these words again in my life…

I wish I could once again engage in the “serious” world altering discussions we used to have after the cricketing sessions in the evening and left only when our parents went touch crazy looking for us at dinner time…  I don’t really know what lays ahead in life….but definitely the most fun and carefree days are over……

But as my dear friend Optimus Prime says…”Let our past always be remembered…as in those memories….we live on….”….

Life is becoming ever more surprising with every passing day….Strange things keep happening around without any warning….But I think I feel more acquainted with it somehow….I have started believing that there are a lot of things beyond our sphere of influence..The illusion of having control over your life has to be shaken off….And I have come to accept that struggle is an inevitable part of everyone’s life…I have humbled down a lot… I thought this year was like the most stagnant phase of my life….but now I have started concluding that it was probably the most genuinely interesting time for me…I have finally started out on the road to self discovery..I am more aware of the ground level problems around me…The past four years of graduation were spent in a different world altogether…Strange trivial issues kept bothering..Weird limited range of thoughts….But this revelation surfaced in these past months… Today..I know my strengths better…Know where and how my weaknesses hamper my progress…And most importantly I know that I am a FIGHTER at heart and nothing will slow me down…

Reading this post might be annoying to many…But believe you me…Its always fruitful to slow down once in a while and think about such stuff…Gives you strength and a new perspective towards life…

Anyway….Returning to my usual style…I recently attended a wedding at Jodhpur…One of my ex-flatmate from Pune decided to take the plunge..Two days full of fun..At the end of which we came close to looking like zombies since we hardly got any sleep…Danced ourselves crazy…bruised my toes..couldn’t wear shoes for another 3 days….But all in all…A great get together..plus this was the first time I got treated like a grown up at a wedding…

Back home now and nothing particularly fun has happened…well if u don’t count a friend of mine getting into a relationship for the very first time in his life..thats right…he was a relationship virgin…funny facts…the guy is like six and a half feet tall and the gal is hardly five feet from the ground…she is a model by profession and a GYM trainer..and he is a model mommies’ boy and student of that gal…well I wont go into further details… jus look for the most abusive comment on this post and find that guy on Facebook…;)

Gym…well I am a senior member at mine now…Its fun teaching young wafer thin body building enthusiasts how to lift weights and do correct exercises….Whats not fun is trying to convince them that playing angry rock music is better while working out and not listening to songs from Mithunda’s movie or playing “love me love me” from ‘Wanted’…I am still trying..with all my willpower…

going for another long since pending bicycle ride today….

Well firstly, a very happy new year to one and all….

Hmmm…so another year has started…and now I am officially getting freaked out with the pace of life…its going by too fast….I can no more differentiate between days….everything is just passing by…I am trying to complete my personal bucket list as soon as possible…..I must say guys we really have limited time…before u know it u’ll be too old…so just start doing whatever u feel like….I m trying my best to do as much as I can….that’s my new year resolution..

Oh!! I forgot to mention…recently me and some of my old friends had a fun party…was an awesome get together … and we dared to cook…resultant delicacies were somehow edible…but the tandoori rotis we got packed from a nearby dhaba transformed into something which required a tool set to cut into…after a few chipped teeth and a ridiculously prolonged dining session..We sat and had coffee and laughed over non sensical things until our lower jaws and stomach muscles couldn’t take the pain any more…no booze or random music..but yet made a  CTRL + S in my memoirs…

I am sure by now everyone must have seen 3 i … well I was glad to watch a nice Hindi movie after a long time…it entertains…makes u laugh…and still leaves u thinking a little bit…yes the movie does have a lot of caricatures and stereotypes..It does include a lot of strange movie masala sequences (baby kicking on hearing all izz well…strange delivery situation etc) apart from that I still believe we all remember our college days by stereotyping the people out there…a weird hairdo professor who is fiercely competitive and rude to students in general…fartohlic guy from the hostel..Drunken sessions involving rich intellectual thinking…well typical…but true and we did laugh during the movie whether stereotype or not…recently read a blog in which the guy has ripped apart the movie blaming it for cheap comedy and no story and to what not…Phew!! Thesaurus rich senseless movie criticism…just felt like he had already decided to criticize the movie on the basis of strange things… well personally I think that a movie’s primary purpose is to entertain…which 3 idiots does…movies are not meant to educate or change the society..but if they are somehow able to leave even something to think about…I think the movie justified itself…I came out thinking  what am I doing in my life…and so did many others I talked to…

Well 3 i also left me reminiscing about my college days…tough to believe (for me ..cuz I hated that place…) but I did get nostalgic…cant write it all in this post…so saving it for the next one…strange though..how just 4 years away from home can change you as a person… boy to man…girl to woman….(well mostly )

I am done with SNAP and back home again….the snap center held quite a few surprises for me…ran into some school time juniors…met a classmate after like 4 years…and to top it all…met a gal I haven’t seen in the last 6 years…As usual I reached the center early and had lots of time to kill…and I heard a voice I was sure I had ‘nt heard in years…when I located its source I was not really sure of whether she was the same Punjabi gal I knew in class 10….the ponytails I distinctly remembered were gone..I was staring at a nice looking gal with a trendy hairstyle….I hesitated for like 10 minutes and when I finally caught her staring at me too… I decided to just ask her if she was indeed the same gal…turns out she was ….well a nice conversation followed…and it continued till the exam formalities session started…it was nice seeing some old faces after such a long time…

well…the exam went pretty well…bade goodbye to some known faces and carried on happily with plans of catching a show of Avatar….I have been hearing a lot of things about avatar being over rated and too hyped…but I believe…(this is specially applicable to guys )….do you honestly care…I think James Cameron is known for his visually captivating cinema…..and I think all the testosterone bearing humans across the world liked his work..right from true lies,judgment day etc.. this is what he does best…and I don’t really care if the movie is hyped….from what I have heard…its awesome to watch( keeping the sensible cinema part aside ) the effects and all…… anyway..turns out I couldn’t go for the movie for some reason….still hoping to catch it soon…

lately I have had a lot of free time to think..and I figured out that on an average..life of a young person is pretty much similar across the country these days…almost everyone is somehow following the same predictable track….almost everyone is happy to be a ‘trained’ worker in an office…earning half of what they are actually capable of…whatever happened to our childhood dreams… have u guys seen the Titan watch advertisement featuring Aamir Khan….simple….yet makes an impact… most of us wanted to be something entirely different then what  we are doing today… I have literally forgotten what it was like to think creatively…doing something we love…infact most of the people I know are not even sure of what they love doing…and before we know…time flies and we wont have the heart to change our lives any more….

now don’t think just because I had to write something I wrote this….it had a purpose….even if u find this hilarious and stupid…I think everyone should take a moment to think about it…and if u feel u r doing what u always wanted or at least moving in that direction….I think u r a blessed child rest of us need to think again….

and since I am discussing about life…its high time I gave u all a vague idea of what my novel is all about….( I still have no clue about any publishers..so if u know someone…let me know too )

so the story is about 4 guys…. all small towners…from  normal( meaning non dramatic and non filmy ) families…. what all they do in their school life…how different their personalities turn out to be when they graduate…and what prompts them to undertake a journey which unfolds some really unbelievable events…

now I have no idea how u all will find this story line…I know this is too vague and seems similar to a lot of Chetan Bhagat’s work..but all i can say is… sometimes real events are much more intriguing and that is all I have tried to put in words in my book…..

Ending my post here today….. not really sure what I wrote this time…just kept typing without thinking much….

Phew !! CAT is over and done with…..finally i am back to what  i do best…time pass….i am actually pretty much disoriented right now….If u r thinking I ll share some CAT experience with you all…u r all mistaken….though I might slip in a few funny incidents…like for instance….I went to the restroom thrice before the exam (asking for permission like a junior high kid every time) I was shit scared guys….fellow next to me recited the entire Hanuman Chalisa right before the exam..and like a jackass I kept humming the ” London Dreams’ rock track of the same(do check it out..its pretty high on energy track)….well CAT began and it ended….much to my relief…biometric scans..photosessions…frisking off even the watch and cash….lucky they dint take my dna sample…

anyway…enough of  cat crap…..

Let me jus come to the part i have been itching to write about…the journey to Jaipur and back….well for one…i travelled after a long break…so it was fun..plus (as I m constantly on the look out for overhearing interesting stuff) I heard some really hilarious things….for one..have u ever heard of “SIMRANOFF”….sounds familiar eh…well it is the desi diction of “SMIRNOFF”…heard some guys talking in the bus about how they were trashed after having this amazing english daru…lol…i also read Chetan Bhagat’s new novel  ‘Two States’ while on my way back…well if truth be told …I found it funny…one time read…nothin really out of the box..but thats the USP..its pretty common..so common that I could relate somewhat to it….

It deals with a lot of south indian culture and life out there…and i was vaguely reminded of visits to my really close buddy in Pune who is a Tamilian himself….i used to go there to work on my final year engineering project..errr kindly overlook the word “work” from the previous line…   so anyway…while reading through the descriptions of how the protagonist in the novel finds the Tamil conversations… I remembered how i used to try to  translate the Tamil talks at his place…it sounded like ” something something something….project…something something something submit something something….”  believe me it is funny….and dont get me wrong here..i like South Indian people….the whole book is centered around the attempts the couple makes to woo over their parents….do read it once…not that bad considering Chetan Bhagat also penned ‘one night @ call centre ‘ and ‘the 3 mistakes of my life’…and reading them were 2 of the many mistakes of my life…

by the way i heard some people who do follow my blog( ok maybe i should have written “few” ) are really confused about the theme i follow….so just let me clarify this…i dont follow any particular theme…its more of a diary of a 22 year old…what he notices…what he goes through…pretty much common experiences….with a dash of some personal flavor… …

Talking about personal flavors….Jaipur journey also reinstated my fear of travelling in a state transport bus…the one I went in had no horn and the driver was literally racing with the fellow highway commuters…i reached with a numb bottom and cramped leg…but thankfully alive… B)   all in all a good trip…..

and i am back home again….planning a movie marathon for another day….nothing beats a good animated movie…i have Madagascar 2 and Up on my list….

nothing much to do now……but yeah… people i have been writing a novel dealing with my teenage years and the various non sensical non ethical crap me and my friends pulled off…….but the name “Chronicles of hormonal turbulence” was highly criticized…so if possible suggest me some names apt to the subject….now that i  am a little relaxed I ll be uploading excerpts from the book soon….

Really late in updating post this time…but my keyboard decided to end its life  few days back…..so was crippled for sometime…..anyway … back now…. past week was quite eventful yet again…my sweet hometown Ajmer was blessed with an amazing weather thanks to the new cyclone “phyan”….It rained for two days continuously with strong winds…it was dark all day and f*#@in freezing….i could see clouds drifting over the hills surrounding the city….could ‘nt take any pics though.. try “Ajmer ” page on facebook..it has some really interesting stuff happening here…pics included…no more rains now that the cyclone has died…still its quite cold….typing has become a pain…

By the way i saw “ajab prem ki….” 2 days back..seemed to me like Raj kumar santoshi tried recreating “Andaz Apna Apna ” magic again…not that great a movie i think…..movies seem to be a great way to keep the stress levels low these days…just saw RDB climax…..its such a motivating movie….which reminds me politicians are really becoming a pain in the ass now….Mr. Bal Thackray ‘s latest statement was…there is no other word for it…disgusting…i mean how low can u fall in terms of cheap politics….I still cannot figure out what was wrong in what Sachin said…..simply ” He is an Indian first….” whats wrong in it i just cannot fathom….I personally have many Maharashtrian friends…and they have never had such cheap feelings against north indians….guess education makes a difference….only the under educated people are being misled by such cheap stunts…..is it a crime to talk in Hindi ?…and who the hell gave them the authority to decide whats good for the people of Maharashtra…..i can only urge to the young people….think and decide for yourselves guys…make your own opinions rather than following someone who resort to violence against their own country fellows….

dunno whats happening in our country….Muslims “leaders” suddenly decided they wont allow singing “Vande Mataram” in madarasas(religious schools) anyone who doesnt know Marathi should just flee from Maharashtra as talking in hindi invites brawls even in the assembly house….

phew!!   life is becoming more and more unsafe everyday….fewer reasons to laugh …more to be tensed….a terrorist comes…tours all over the country and gets caught in USA…and then we come to know what all he did….wow…simply wow….

oops…looks like i got carried away once again…politics infuriates me….sorry guys….back to some normal stuff….

swine flu came to Ajmer finally….I am afraid of even sneezing now….

I am posting a little late this time…but CAT prep has finally taken its toll on me …quite stressed out these days..anyway..past week has been full of events as usual..Its pretty strange that so many things keep happening around here which were non-existent when i was in Pune…I have become more aware of events possibly…So as I am constantly on the look out for “eccentric” news i have indeed succeeded in accumulating a few…. RANA the oldest Lion at the Nahargarh  Rescue Centre in the outskirts of Jaipur ( btw nahargarh fort is the same where RDB scenes were shot … khalbali etc… )….The big Cat was suffering from Intestinal Cancer…yaa..Cancer….He was rescued from a big circus or something years ago…….apart from this death swine flu has come visiting Rajasthan finally…I almost freaked out on catching cold….but decided to be a little patient( no pun intended) with it…turns out it was normal cold after all…fit as ever again now….By the way if you have been watching the news….M.N.S MLAs just displayed their antics again..this time in the assembly itself…some dude was adamant on taking oath in Hindi….so they decided to teach him a lesson…slaps…spitting…breaking decorum followed…These are the very  people who are chosen by our junta…sad !!

Anyway…people who have not yet seen the promo of James Cameron ‘s new movie trailer are in for a big treat….Just youtube it( the name is AVATAR )…watch it in high resolution….class act…comes out in December…cant wait to watch it…

Just finished watching LOTR 3 (again) and somehow it left me thinking this time….I think the movie is so much to learn from.I dint realize this earlier but Frodo ‘s journey, Sam ‘s  loyalty, Aragorn ‘s courage are all very practical….They signify a lot more than just being a work of fiction…. How often does it happen that we give up hope..give up the will to fight more…and that is a time we need a friend like Sam.. who is there to support us and guide us through….Magic is actually all around us…waiting to be felt…..everytime u r happy…try and remember the sensation inside you…I am pretty sure it s inexplicable…..So people.. notice the small happenings around you….I have forgotten what it was like being a kid…when all I used to worry about was my daily home work…cricket match with the other local team consisting of 12-year-old kids….and exams thrice a year which i used to pass every time with flying colors…..life was too simple back then…or maybe we were less worried all the time….either ways…. It’s easy to laugh on stupid things around…so get  out of your house….watch people doing all sort of strange things…. It’s a big stress buster….and gives u a high which lasts longer and has no side effects…..

damn !! i just realized how much philosophical i sound….I guess CAT  prep does that to humans…..dont get worried though… i ll be back with my usual funny updates in the upcoming blog posts….. Just a weird day and hence the weird thoughts….

it ‘s been one  hell of a week….at the end of 5 days fire still on at the IOC depot…and now there are dense fumes all over the pink city…it seems a catastrophe every few months has become a routine in our country….speaking of catastrophe….CAT approaches in a month…and i have got cold feet already…future literally at stake this time….trying to put in as many hours as possible…though i still manage to fish out some interesting stuff for my blog readers…two days ago KATRINA KAIF visited the dargah here in ajmer…and yesterday PIGGY CHOPS( thats what i heard priyanka chopra is lovingly called ) offered her prayers amidst a hoard of people trying to catch a glimpse of her…..well though ajmer is a relatively small town…it does attract more than its fair share of biggies….pushkar fair has ended in yet another spectacle….i heard there was a tug of war between foreign tourists(female)  and local women…uploading some pics of the fair here too….

After i guess a good gap of around 3 years i finally sat down to watch the Indo-Ausssie ODI yesterday…India lost…   but i dont brood over it now ( yes i used to earlier ) at least  other games are catching up slowly…

And yeah !! i went to a wedding party yesterday…buffet is never going to be my favourite way of eating i suppose…..it feels so frustrating to stand in a queue for food…somehow reminds me of prisons….

well i am going to stop here for now…dont have much energy left…. i guess will have to skip gym tomorrow….going for another wedding dinner today…hoping to catch up with some old friends there….

sorry could not post yesterday…was down with cold……winter has finally arrived here…made a new record of continuous sneezing… 22 in a row…lol…..so anyway…today was one of the better days…got off to a funny start as i overheard two fellows at the gym discussing who has a better physique Sunny Deol or Salman Khan(had a tough time concentrating on lifting weights as i kept sniggering so much….lol)…after that i decided to watch a movie recommended by a friend recently..its called “FROST NIXON”..for those of you who have no  idea about Nixon and his legacy…let me enlighten you a little bit…Richard M. Nixon was probably the most infamous American President ever…It was during his tenure that Americans freaked out so much…owing to Vietnam war casualties.raiding civilian areas in Cambodia in search of something which later proved non-existent….And ofcourse..the Watergate Scandal..named after the watergate office complex situated in Washington D.C…It dealt with some illegal funding theft which was covered up by Nixon..He still remains the only U.S. President ever to resign from his post…He was granted pardon by his follower…anyway..so the movie is about this entertainment tv reporter  Robert frost who gets a chance to interview Nixon and how he gets Nixon (who was a stupendous orator and a man of intellect…) to admit his failures as a President and apologize to the american people for breaking their trust in the government system…I say its a must watch for those who like intellectual cinema…Strangely..if anyone has noticed…its the legacy of  this watergate scandal that even today major scandals are suffixed with “gate” ( ala slapgate…bhajji sreesanth incident…lol)………

talking about little less intellectual stuff….my brother and i succeeded in creating a chord construct for “jackwa and jilwa” ..(raju shrivastav’s  version of jack n jil)….was a lot of  fun…i m trying to learn how to read musical staff notations….He is more learned in it.. talking of music..shaadi season has begun…my home being on a strange juction nearby a party place..all processions tend to pause right in front of my house ‘s main gate and people dance with full on energy with dhols and brass band versions of ” aaj mere yaar ki shaadi hai “….. guess my new head phones will find some good use now…

just saw on the news..indian oil storage area in Jaipur has caught fire and the stupid fire dept people have no clue how to handle it…no expert present on controlling oil based fire…what non sense !!

gonna catch more news…..will post another update soon…

Just a little bit delayed in publishing my blog…gonna try to be on time tmrw onwards….so anyway…today was  a slow day for me…woke up at 6 to drop off mom and came back and slept again…missed gym ….. ate a lot and den slept again..so all in all..not a very healthy day…. i m beginning to publish  my bicycle diaries today and hoping to capture some fascinating events (i know the name sounds inspired from the motor cycle diaries but i found it pretty  nice.)….So anyway..

The famous Pushkar Mela is on … Yesterday was the grand inauguration ceremony…It was a wonderful sight with tourists trying out dances and other things….i heard a particular folk dance performance by school girls on the song “gorbandh nakhralo” was a hot favourite….gonna try to get its video….for those who have no idea about how grand this event is..here are some details…..Firstly its the biggest animal fair around the world…This year the  animal count has already reached 16,482 which includes 8318 horses,3462 ox etc etc….The traditional “LAGAAN” match also happened but it was a healthy departure from tradition(read cricket !!) as this time it was a soccer match….desis lost… 5- 2…..

on a funny note …i got to know that many of the horses in the fair have caught cold … and everyone is scared that if it spreads…sales are gonna get affected…i think its high time Vicks guys manufacture something for animals too….lol… i saw some pics where foreign tourists are actually trying out desi stunts performed by the local tribesmen called “KALBELIYAS” (if u guys can recall women clad in black dresses with lots of mirror work and frilly things attached…they dance vigourously….some tourists were also trying to walk the rope …. I m trying to arrange some pics and videos from my neighbour  didi who is senior journalist in a local daily….As soon as i get them i ll upload them for u all….its a color fest….i mean i have only heard people saying India is so beautiful and full of colors…but actually witnessing something this magnificent I now truly believe so…..

Do you guys know that the only BRAHMA TEMPLE in the world is situated in pushkar….though sadly…the holy lake associated so much with pushkar had dried up owing to some shitty government undertaking of cleaning it…jackasses have dug it all up and made separate pools for holy dips… As usual they were supposed to finish it up before the fair…but have now filed for an extended deadline…bloody corrupt gits…..

anyway!!! so i hope i have painted a nice picture of this famous pushkar fair…lot more events are supposed to happen in it…wil keep ya updated !!!!!
